Pricing – Portraits

I like to keep things SIMPLE so there is just have one standard package that fits 95% of people. If you want something different though let me know

A lot of photographers have many different packages that get you in and then try to upsell with overpriced prints and sometimes high pressure sales tactics and will often be unwilling to provide the digital files

At Craftypics if you engage me to take your photographs for personal use then you will have the option of purchasing the HIGH resolution digital files as well as purchasing prints.  You will also have a password protected gallery available online that you can access. This will nominally be available to be accessed for 1 year after the photoshoot.

Individual or Family Portrait sessions -  either in your home or on location somewhere ( park/beach etc ). This can be done with either natural light only, portable studio lighting or a combination of both

• Standard session : Approx 90 minutes on location whether that be in a local park or inside your home. If shooting outdoors we will try and schedule a time that brings out the best lighting.
• You will receive approximately 40-60 professionally edited photos in digital format with a small transparent watermark in the corner at a resolution suitable for Facebook or emailing
• You can select FOUR images which will be printed at a size 8″x 12″ in a professional lab and posted to you ready for you to have framed

Investment : $230 with the option of paying an additional $70 for supply of all the images on CD unwatermarked and in high resolution JPEG format

TERMS and CONDITIONS

• A deposit of $50 is payable at time of booking to secure the date/time
• Travel time is included at no extra cost for locations within 25 kms (30 mins) of the Adelaide CBD. Please contact me if outside of this range
• If the photo shoot needs to be rescheduled we will do our best to try and fit in with an alternative date if possible
• Images will be available to view online within 7 days at which time you can select the 4 images that I will get printed. At the time of selecting you have the additional option of purchasing the high resolution unwatermarked digital files that you can take and get printed yourself.
• Copyright will be retained by Michael Selge ( Craftypics ), but  you are granted the rights to reproduce them / print them for your own personal use.
• Web resolution images of the photo shoot with a small Craftypics watermark will be made available for all clients
• All images provided are to remain unedited or modified by the client unless permission has been given by Michael Selge ( Craftypics )

 

Question : What if I’m not happy with the photos ?

Answer : I’ve never yet had an unsatisfied customer, but if you are unhappy with the images I will reshoot for no extra charge.

 

Question : Why can’t I just get digital versions. I dont want any Prints ?

Answer : I’ve had photos printed at both Professional labs as well as Photo Booths and cheaper places and the quality can vary considerably. I take pride in the images I create so I always will provide some images that I get professionally printed in a proper photographic lab.

 

Question : Why do you want to retain Copyright ? They are my photos

Answer : One of the most common misconceptions is the difference between Copyright and Rights. For my Portrait sessions you are granted FULL rights to take the high resolution images I provide and make multiple copies for you own personal use or to give to family and friends. The Photographer requesting that they retain copyright is not unreasonable as without that they cannot even post a gallery of the images online for the client to view without permission. I cannot think of a valid reason for a client to want copyright of images taken when they have Full reproduction rights for personal use.
